In the recent MobileBeat 2010 press conference, HP’s vice president and also the company’s Chief Technology officer, Phil McKinney, gave a small presentation about the company’s current goal. He started with a small presentation and answered some questions. He was very clear in mentioning the latest goal of the huge personal computing world. He stated that the aim was to find out what the public is looking for in the computing which is smaller than notebook but bigger than smartphone. A positive response was given by McKinney on making of slates & phones that are both user friendly and can operate applications. This was not satisfactory for reporters as he did not inform anything new. Moreover, he did not disclose whether they will develop these slates with Windows 7 application or not. This clearly showed the secrecy HP wants to maintain in this matter.
