For those who use Google as their main search engine, here is an update for you. For their customer to be on the race without revealing their computer’s information, Google just released a new beta version of add-on for Internet explorer, Firefox and Google chrome for privacy concern. This is to slab data captured for websites that use its own Analytics Service.
Google Analytics opt-out browser is designed to take a halt on the information of your PC that uses Google Analytics. They capture the information by inserting some java script codes to determine your Internet Service Provider together with your public and private IP address, the browser version, pages per visit, bounce rates, average time and location. How is it? Google Analytics uses the method of IP geo-location. It accumulates the websites open by the visitor and maps the location of the user. It uses the IP masking to give information to the customers. Website owners that use Google Analytics has the option to tell Google Analytics to only use a percentage of the IP address, rather than the entire IP address, for geo-location. Whether or not website owners use Google Analytics, they have access to IP addresses for visitors to their sites.
To deal with the privacy concern, New tweak to Google Analytics java script was released by Google. This thing lets owners to make their visiting IP address anonymously sent to Google. The new syntax structure sends a portion of the IP address removing the last octet. For example, the IP address is 216.27.61.137, the .137 is erased. Thus the new IP address to be sent is 216.27.61. Removing the last part of the octet would not reveal once IP address and the geographical location from being captured.
After been criticized in other Google applications such as Google Buzz , which exposes data information of the users without any authorization, and Google Street View in which they admittedly grabbed data from open WI-FI networks, finally they have come to a solution of creating an opt-out browser.
From this moment on, without violating users’ privacy, Google has created a challenge to gather some information. These may be good news to the users of the Google, who continually trust them after been criticized but other web sites may stumble. IT Support
