It seems Google simply loves to boost its overall development in all its widespread areas. Well, according to an announcement on Monday afternoon, this time it’s invading into the world of entertainment and gaming through the acquisition of LabPixies. The company offers a large collection of games and other utilities that are run on iGoogle.
Google adores building several platforms on which programs can run. Although platforms are not much use and certainly are not much fun without applications added to them, Google so often gives a jump start to the development of applications of its own.
Since iGoogle uses the OpenSocial foundation for its apps, this means that OpenSocial gadgets will now run on all of your favorite social networking sites. LabPixies is also known for developing applications that can be run on Facebook. Since Google launched iGoogle in 2005 it has steadily improved its applications. Coincidentally, LabPixies was one of the first developers to create these gadgets for iGoogle. And over the last few years, the two companies have worked together on a wide variety of other projects that include a number of global open source gadgets. It seems that developers have no realized how much more they could accomplish if they became part of the same team.

The first experience of a few people with LabPixies was a simple but addicting game known as Flood-it for the iPhone. The company offers many other brain teaser type games as well. LabPixies has also gone the way of paid premiums with apps such as Flood-it-Pro and Trio Pro available but only for a price.

LabPixies has left a note on their own site that claims that they will continue to do what they have always done except for now they will be teamed with one of the world’s favorite browsers and gain so much more being able to now use Google’s technologies to add to their own.
