We do not have our talking robotic butlers yet, but when the products of the study of the field are counted, Artificial Intelligence has been one of the most fruitful fields of study ever attempted.

The problem may be that we are not gods. That is to say, we do not yet possess the ability to make the machine in our image. We can create biological life, but the processes of which are mainly quite outside our deliberate conscious thinking.
